How are you spending your summer?
I'm not sure I'll be able to get around to recording something for Aaron to air, so I thought I'd post my summer plans here.

My tv time has been winding down quite a bit, (gee, I wonder why... could it be my cute little Mini-Me), so my plan is to kick into high-gear my participation in online role playing games.

Now, I'm not talking some kind of video game that is marketed as a role playing game, no I'm talking about honest to goodness role playing games that would be played with pen and paper if I was playing in-person with real live people. But, alas, my available free time being what it is, I need to play my games via play-by-post (pbp) online.

I am currently running 3 games, (two Call of Cthulhu games, and one Basic Role Playing game set in WWII with psionics). I am also currently playing in 2 games, one Dark Heresy game and one Star Wars game.

I am also writing some adventures for two separate contests being held by Chaosium Games. Chaosium has a generic gaming system that they call Basic Role Playing, and I submitted one adventure for a contest, (it is the WWII with psionics adventure that I'm also currently running as a play-test of my adventure), and I'm writing a Halloween horror adventure for use in Call of Cthulhu. I'm not done with that adventure yet, but I hope to finish and submit it soon.

So, that is my summer plans. What's yours?

Well living on the other side of the world summer is still several months away for me but most of the time it tends to be that same as winter for me, movies, books, comics ( when I can track down something interesting ) and the occasional video game.

All that online RPG action sounds like fun, I've actually been buying a lot of RPG stuff on ebay lately, I don't imagine I'll ever play any of it but it has made for a fun read.

I recently picked up:

Mutants and Masterminds ( core rules )
Legacy: War of Ages ( as close to Highlander as you could get without being sued )
Dreamlands ( for Call of Cthulhu )
Dark Conspiracy and a bunch of its supplements
In Nomine
Of Gods and Men
Cyber Space ( and a module )
Western Hero ( for Hero System )
The Master ( FASA's Doctor Who rpg )

and a couple of Conspiracy X and Hunter: The Reckoning supplements.

Hell it all keeps me off the streets Wink

We're gonna explode? I don't wanna explode!

I started a new thread with the instructions and links. Check out this thread: http://sfdforum.scotthough.com/thread-1611.html

And, if you actually meant you wanted links to pictures of my son, then I got that covered too. Check out this new thread too: http://sfdforum.scotthough.com/thread-1612.html

Web monkey? Do I really look simian-like? Toungue Actually, my mom says my dad is a gorilla... I guess it's close. Toungue My summer is going to be spent job hunting and working at the job I already have. Maybe I'll find some people to play a play by post RPG with a universe of my creation.. (Would have to train the GM in my universe though... I would be a terrible one.. Would have to figure out the RPG system though. Maybe crowbar my universe and races into D&D.)

RE: How are you spending your summer?
Being here in Texas where we have averaged 102 degrees for the last week, I will try to stay cool Smile.

My wife and I just got back from our summer vacation. We visited her brother, both mother's and she attended a family reunion. I am now trying to recover from the vacation Smile. Having a chronic pain condition makes visiting family an adventure, but it was worth it.

My other plans include building my wife a new computer, rebuilding my son's laptop (OS and apps) and catching up on my reading (I'm way behind). Oh yes, before I forget, avoiding the new Transformers movie is also a must do this summer Wink.

RE: How are you spending your summer?
I'm spending my summer wishing I had a chance to do some recording. Podcasting is an addiction and I probably won't have time to do any until school starts up again and I can have a little time to myself.

Other than that it's a long list of honey-do's: trim the monster willow tree (that'll be my 4th holiday atop at 32 foot ladder), repair at least 2 vehicles, re-roof the house with a metal roof, and I can't remember what else.
Sometime in the next few weeks I'm going to try to find time for a nap!
